Bethesda's got bugs in their engine so old they date back to the original Gamebryo engine they forked it from. And they're that way for weeks, until patches hit the major bugs, then start working on the more minor ones. They also generally happen to be fun enough that I will just dutifully boot it up again after the night's 15th crash to desktop, and just keep pushing through until it gets stabilized. It wasn't a true "X/S" version of the game though. On the newer consoles not only could everything load better/faster, it allowed for the game to try and reach 60FPS as well. Glitches, texture's looking terrible, etc. The Series X and S consoles could run the game out of the gate with a lot less issues because of the better hardware they had. The original Xbox One and Xbox One X got a lot of the notoriety about not being able to handle the game well.
